FVP Machar and 7 SPLM/A-IO officials and members on trial.

The prosecution team called its first witness to testify on Friday in the trial of eight SPLM/A-IO officials accused in the Nasir incident.

Maj. Malual Peter Deng, who represents the SSPDF, presented a report detailing the attack on Wic-yar-adiu garrison as well as events preceding the incident.

Questioned by prosecution lawyer Martha Jabe, Deng also presented video footages including press conferences in Juba, troops briefing in Malakal and White Army meetings before and after the attack.

The session was adjourned to Monday, November 24, where the first witness will present more evidence.

Meanwhile, the judges have endorsed the nomination of Thon Simon Deng by the prosecution as the court interpreter, after the defense presented no objection.
