JUBA – Central Equatoria Governor Rabi Mujung Emmanuel has given new Juba mayor Christopher Sarafino Wani 100 days to deliver and transform the city into “second Kigali”, as the municipal leadership took oath on Monday.

‎Mayor Sarafino was sworn in together with Jenifer Yabu Lasuba as Deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance, Lual Joseph Deng as Deputy Mayor for Social Services, and Stephen Lomude as Deputy Mayor for Environment and Management.

‎‎Governor Mujung urged the municipal leadership to lead with discipline and operate within the legal framework to achieve effective service delivery.

He directed them to design a 100-day action plan addressing poor roads, waste management, and environmental cleanliness within the city.

‎“I wish Juba becomes the second Kigali in terms of cleanliness. People want a clean city. This is your responsibility. Within your 100 days, change should happen and we must see the difference,” the governor said.

‎He further encouraged the council to engage the public, prioritize road renovation, and assured them of his support.

‎Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu also encouraged the City Council leadership to avoid closing small businesses over taxes and instead work with traders to promote economic empowerment.

‎Mayor Sarafino pledged reforms in waste management, security, and roads, promising to restore public trust. “The City Council has been accused of many wrongs, but we shall restore its image,” he affirmed.
