Judge orders security to grant free entry to media, public at Machar’s trial

JUBA – The presiding judge of the Special Court, Justice James Alala Deng, has ordered that all media outlets be granted access to report on the ongoing trial of Dr. Riek Machar Teny and the seven co-accused SPLM-IO members.

This follows the barring of independent media outlets and civil society members from entering the courthouse on Monday, .

In today’s session, Alala reaffirms that the media is free to attend and report on the judicial process without obstruction from security personnel or interference in the proceedings, provided they adhere to courtroom rules and decorum.
