VP Bol Mel meets presidential envoy Adut Salva amid feud rumors

Adut shakes hand with Bol Mel

JUBA – Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel received Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs Adut Salva Kiir at his office on Wednesday, Bol’s office said.

The visit comes amid lingering debate over alleged feud between the two and social media war of words between their supporters.

“The Vice President congratulated Hon. Adut on her appointment, describing it as a reflection of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s commitment to placing capable and compassionate leaders at the helm of national priorities,” a statement noted.

It was further stated that the two discussed “special programs” initiated by President Kiir and how they can be implemented swiftly and effectively to improve services, strengthen livelihoods, and create new opportunities for the people of South Sudan.

VP Bol is said to have pledged the full collaboration of the Economic Cluster with Adut’s mandate and called upon the other clusters to rally behind her efforts.

“He further urged the people of South Sudan to give their full support to the Senior Presidential Envoy, noting that her distinguished record of humanitarian and community service makes her uniquely placed to successfully carry the national responsibility.”
