Ugandan musician Zari lands in Juba for VIP party

JUBA – Ugandan socialite and former musician Zari Hassan, also known as Zari the Boss Lady, landed in Juba on Thursday for an highly anticipated BBQ party that was announced in July.

Known for her roles in television and music, including her stint as a musician in the early 2010s. Zari is also the CEO of Brooklyn City College, an educational institute in South Africa.

“(Just) landed in South Sudan (Juba) where almost everyone is tall and I’m here standing at 5’3 ( pls don’t argue till you see me live, photos make me tall and huge). See you tomorrow at Gold Orchids BBQ party,” she posted.

On July 27th, Zari announced the Juba party, organized by South Sudan’s Promota Kay Two and Gold Orchid. Entry to the lavish show is 85,000 South Sudan pounds for ordinary, 150 US dollars for VIPs and 300 for VVIP.

Foreign musicians, mainly Ugandans, see South Sudan as a lucrative destination for their shows, with many scooping hundreds of thousands of dollars in recent years for performances at government events or to entertain wealthy politicians and businessmen.
