Liverpool fans in South Sudan donate baby toiletries at JTH

JUBA—South Sudanese fans of English Premier League club Liverpool joined hands to donate essential baby toiletries to Juba Teaching Hospital on August 11 to celebrate last season’s success.

The football fans said they made the gesture in the spirit of their “You’ll Never Walk Alone” slogan, adding it was a huge success. The donation includes soap, diapers, baby oil, bathing soap, and others.

“Liverpool fans in South Sudan generously donated essential items, including soap, diapers, baby oil, bathing soap, and more, to newborn babies at Juba Teaching Hospital,” a statement said.

The donation is part of other activities that the fans pledged to undertake as part of their celebration of Liverpool’s 2024-2025 Premier League title win.

The charity donation was supposed to take place early but was postponed following the tragic death of star forward Diogo Jota in a car crash in Spain on July 3.

The South Sudanese Liverpool fans also had dinner together and held a Community Shield match viewing at Notos Art Center in Juba town, which Liverpool lost to Crystal Palace.
