KAMPALA — Watoto Church leadership in Uganda announced on Sunday, that it has fired one of its pastors over allegations that he committed sexual immorality.
In a video message broadcast to all its branches, the leadership reaffirmed its commitment to high moral standards and the expectation that its leaders exemplify those values.
Pastor Julius Rwotlonyo, the team leader at Watoto Church Ministries, described the incident as “unfortunate” and one that undermines the core values of the institution.
“This is a sad moment for the church,” Pastor Rwotlonyo said, adding that the leadership remains committed to walking in righteousness and ensuring members are held accountable to the Word of God.
While confirming the dismissal, Pastor Rwotlonyo did not disclose specific details of the alleged misconduct.
Watoto Church, one of Uganda’s largest evangelical congregations, operates multiple branches across the country and is known for its youth programs, music ministry, and charitable work.
The leadership has stressed that maintaining integrity among its pastoral team is essential to sustaining public trust and advancing its mission.
