JUBA – Kamal John is the latest to be disqualified from the race for South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) presidency, as electoral committee announced the final candidates for the upcoming elections.
At a press conference on Friday, head of electoral body, Arnis Faulo Marino left it to the incumbent Gen. Augustino Madout and former President Francis Amin after Teng Deng and Kamal John were forced out.
Deng was the first to be disqualified over what the committee said was lack of academic credentials from a recognised university in the country. He appealed the decision but his complaint was quashed.
EC boss Marino emphasized that the review process was thorough and adhered strictly to the association’s statutes and electoral laws.
He said each applicant was evaluated meticulously to ensure they met the established eligibility criteria.
“This process reflects the SSFF ’s dedication to maintaining high standards in governance.”
“The final list of candidates was confirmed after a rigorous examination by the federation’s Appeals Committee, chaired by Ad, Tong Majok.”
According to him, the committee carefully reviewed all candidate documents and the reasons for excluding certain applicants, ultimately ensuring that only qualified individuals advanced.
“As we move forward to the elections, the SSFF encourages all stakeholders to engage in the process and support a fair and democratic election.”
