Martyrs Day: South Sudan army helicopters to conduct flyovers at Juba sky

JUBA – Two helicopters of the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) will fly in military formation over the skies of Juba on Wednesday to mark the Martyrs Day, the army spokesperson announced.

Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai urged the public not to panic when they see the gunships maneuvers later in the day.

In a press statement, Lul said Bilpam recognizes the ultimate prices paid by “our fallen heroes and heroines” during the war of liberation that culminated in the attainment of South Sudan’s independence.

“SSPDF Commander of Airforce and Strategic Air Defense, Lt. Gen. Psc ( ET) Baak Akoon, would like to inform members of the public that, today, 30/7/2025, two helicopters, will conduct flyovers in various military formations and make maneuvers over the skies of Juba Town and the surrounding areas.

“In light of aforementioned information, members of the public are requested not to panic. “
