Cabinet Minister Lomuro marries fiance Nyaruot Kur

Cabinet Minister Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro married his fiance Nyaruot Kur Yai in a lavish wedding ceremony at Freedom Hall in Juba on Saturday night.

Traditionally styled, the wedding was attended by top government officials, including vice presidents Taban Deng Gai and Josephine Lagu, who represented President Salva Kiir.

Dr. Lomuro is a close ally of President Salva Kiir and hold several roles in the transitional government, including as Head of the High-Level Standing Committee on peace implementation, in addition to the cabinet role.

Lomuro hails from Pajulu tribe in Central Equatoria State, while Nyaruot is from Rubkona County in Unity State. She is also believed to be the minister’s longtime aide.
