22nd session: Court request list of prosecution witnesses

by Juba Witness

JUBA – The Special Court hearing the case against eight SPLM/A-IO officials has called on the prosecution to submit the list of all its witnesses, as the session was adjourned to Friday, November 21, 2025.

The 22nd session was for the court to announce a verdict on the prosecution’s application for witness protection and appointment of a court interpreter.

However, Presiding Judge Dr. James Alala Deng requested a list of all prosecution witnesses to determine who needs protection or an interpreter and who does not.

The prosecution then disclosed that they have 16 witnesses, eight of whom need protection and the other eight can speak freely. They also disclosed that only one witness needs a Nuer language translator.

The three-judge panel also proposed that the prosecution agrees with the defense on suggestions for interpreter. The prosecution then said it has options for the role, which the defense obliged.

The session was then adjourned to 21st November, where the judges will announce a verdict on witness protection.
