JUBA — President Salva Kiir on Saturday traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, his office said.
In a brief statement at Juba International Airport, Presidential Press Secretary David Amuor Majur, said while in Abu Dhabi, Kiir is expected to meet with Emirati officials, to discuss expanding trade partnerships, and woo investors to explore the available investment opportunities in the Republic of South Sudan.
Amuor said the visit highlighs the commitment of the two nations to deepening relations and pursuing shared goals in economic development and sustainable growth.
Kiir was seen off by several top government officials including vice president Benjamin Bol Mel and foreign minister Monday Semaya Kumba.
