JUBA — The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has rescheduled the 2025/2026 Premier League season to 13th September 2025, pushing it from the initial August 21st opening day.
The decision was adopted in the first meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee, chaired by President Mr. Francis Amin Michael.
The change was made to give the new administration time to finalize key administrative and logistical arrangements and to accommodate the FIFA International Window (1st–9th September 2025), which will involve national team activities.
“This adjustment ensures proper preparation for both the league and our national team players. We want to start the season on solid ground,” said SSFF Secretary General Victor Lawrence Lual.
New Club Requirements
In line with the resolution, the SSFF also announced two new mandatory requirements for all participating clubs including that each club must have a Head Coach with at least a CAF C Diploma License, duly registered before the league begins, and each club must have a dedicated medical personnel (doctor or physiotherapist) for the entire season.
The Competitions Department will release an updated fixture list in the coming days.
The SSFF has assured fans that the rescheduled season will deliver a more competitive, organized, and professional Premier League under the new leadership.
The inaugural 2024-2025 SSPL season which featured 14 teams was won by Kator FC.
