Education ministry announces long-awaited CSE exams results

Juba – At least 36,701 students including 21,619 males and 16,082 females have passed the Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) examination as the Ministry of General Education announces the long-awaited results on Wednesday.

Education minister Kuyok Aboul announces that 50,004 candidates including 29,353 males and 20,651 were initially registered for the CSE exams in 535 schools.

However, only 48,079 candidates including 28,192 males and 19,887 females attempted the exams.

From that number, 36,701 candidates passed, including 21,619 males and 16,082 females, with a pass rate of 76.3 percent.

A total of 11,778 candidates including 6,573 males and 4,805 females failed the exams.

Chemistry, Principles of Account and Arabic language were the worst performing subjects, while Agriculture, Computer Science, Physics, Islamic Religion and Citizenship saw improved performance.

The top performing school is Amazing Grace High School in Jonglei State followed by Darling Wisdom Academy Pentagon Campus in Central E, and the third is Day Star Academy School and the fourth is Saint Laurence in Jonglei and fifth is Green Belt Secondary School in Central Equatoria.

Philip Manyok Ayuen from Greenbelt Academy, Bor, has emerged as the top performing student in the just released Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) examinations with an impressive score of 91.6%.
