Korean peacekeepers donate shoes to over 600 pupils in GPAA

PIBOR – Greater Pibor Chief Administrator Gola Boyoi Gola distributed over 600 pairs of shoes to pupils of Pibor Boys Primary School, Pibor Girls Primary School, and Pibor Nursery School.

This initiative was made possible through the generous donation of the Republic of Korean contingency, ROKHMEC-UNMISS, which donated the shoes to support children in Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

Pibor faces significant educational challenges, including a severe shortage of qualified teachers. Further, cultural norms, poverty, and insecurity also contribute to high dropout rates, especially among girls, with issues like early marriage, abduction, and lack of adequate facilities hindering their access to education.
