Woman scalds stepson with hot water over firewood quarrel.

WARRAP—Police in Warrap State’s Twic County have arrested a 28-year-old woman who allegedly poured boiling water on her teenage stepson over a quarrel related to the use of firewood.

Aluat Garang inflicted severe burns on the 17-year-old co-wife’s son at Wunrok Payam, according to Mayardit FM, a local community radio station based in Warrap.

Police Inspector Lt. Col. Atem Deng Atem said the incident occurred Saturday night in Panrual village, Titcok Boma, after the woman quarreled with the boy for taking her firewood to burn in the cattle camp.

“She quarreled with her co-wife’s 17-year-old boy. At night, the boy went to sleep at the cattle camp. The woman boiled water that same night and went to the cattle camp where the boy was sleeping and poured hot water on the child’s body,” Atem said.

The boy, Adhar Dau Akech Thokluoi, sustained serious burns to his chest, stomach, and private parts.

He has been admitted to Mayen Abun Hospital for treatment, while the suspect remains in police custody in Wunrok town as investigations continue. old quarrel.
