NEW YORK – The chief executive of little-known US tech company Astronomer has resigned from the role after he was accidentally exposed on camera caressing his fellow employee at a concert.
Andy Byron found himself being displayed on the big screen of a Coldplay concert cuddle-dancing with his junior before they broke apart and covered their faces in an embarrassing scene.
A statement seen and verified by US news agencies said Astronomer’s board of directors accepted Byron’s resignation and will begin searching for its next CEO.
Byron, a married man, was seen with his HR Kristin Cabot on the “kiss cam” screen at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, before both ducked out of view.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the company saidSaturday, according to CNN.
The company on said on Friday said Astronomer’s co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy would serve as interim CEO.
